Turning Natural Juice BAR

This week I had the chance to check out the newest juice bar on the H Street Corridor in Northeast, Washington, DC. Since my very first visit, Turning Natural has quickly become one of my favorite spots for fresh juice and tasty vegan bites in the city. Upon approaching this perfectly nestled corner establishment, you're instantly greeted by a bright multi-colored, polka dot and stripe mural that covers the entire outer facade of the building. Once inside, the extensive menu of fresh juices, smoothies, and vegan food options delights the senses!

Turning Natural is owned by Jerri Evans. Prior to becoming the "woman behind the juicer" Jerri attended Tennessee State University studying Aeronautical Industry Technology. She strongly believes in differentiating what you are good at and what your gift is. After the abrupt loss of her mom in 2010, she decided to follow her rebel entrepreneurial heart and continue her moms legacy, by promoting healthy living to everyone she comes across.

Annette Turner, founder of Turning Natural birthed the idea of providing a holistic lifestyle to everyday living after being diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer in 2001. Her fight began at Cancer Treatment Center of America, where she decided that cancer wasn't a death sentence. She educated and facilitated her path to healthier living, while serving as an agent for change.

In 2010, cancer reared its ugly head again, and after 9yrs of being cancer free she fought her final fight. Her daughter Jerri Evans decided to not allow her dream to die, but rather evolve by continuing her initiative. Today, she is moving forward and spreading good health always, in all ways! The H Street Corridor has been a primary ground for extensive development and revitalization in recent years. Of all the changes, this is one addition that brings me immense joy. Turning Natural has some of the most creative names for their smoothies and fresh pressed juices. Yesterday I had the “Swizz Beets” and today the “Mi’Kale Jackson”. Tomorrow I’ll be going for the “Marion Berry”. Not to mention, their vegan spinach patties are absolutely amazing + the staff is always so delightfully pleasant.

Thank you Turning Natural for bringing this wonderful gem to the area and sustaining health & wellness in the community. Check out their entire juice and smoothie menu below, and be sure to visit the next time you find yourself on the H Street Corridor!
